Don and Bobbi Winterton Family

Compared to most families in the world, we have a BIG family! We probably have a LOT more FUN --- but it's also hard keeping everybody 'in the know' about what's going on in everyone's lives. Has anyone had the experience of finding something out and then saying "How come Mom didn't tell me that??? Well, now we can all STOP blaming poor Mom! If you have something great or not-so-great happen in your lives that this family should know about, tell us! (The site is private and can only be accessed by us.)

New Year's Resolution

I hate it that the Holidays are over. Now I have to work on New Year's Resolutions - dieting, exercise, etc.......... and there are still Christmas goodies lying around! But, as you can see from the nice double chin (On me - not Nida!) that I'd better buckle down! Steve and Jake and I have started a Weightloss/Fitness challenge. If we don't exercise at least 1/2 hour a day, 6 days a week, we owe the 'kitty' 5 bucks. I guess the person that slacks off the least wins the most AND gets to buy a new swim suit (OR WHATEVER) with the proceeds, if there are any. Hopefully we're ALL winners (or Losers?) I haven't heard back from Steve about it, but I'm sure that if you want to put your $5 in the kitty every time you cheat, he won't mind - cuz he's not planning on cheating (are you Steve?) and would love to have a bigger pot of money in the end! We also have to keep a list of everything that goes in our mouths and e-mail it to each other on Fridays. It kind of makes you stop and think, "Do I really want to have to write this down?" It also helps to see where our weaknesses are. Mine is Cheese and Crackers in the afternoon, and not drinking enough water. We started January 1st, but if you want to join, I'm sure we can work something out!

Wow! This picture is amazing in that it really shows how much alike you two are: same eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth. Definitely a mother and daughter.

I don't have anything to say about the exercise/write everything down that is eaten plan. It sounds too difficult for my brain. I think I'm working at eating myself into oblivion at the moment. All that dark chocolate from Christmas is really my downfall!!!

I really don't have a problem with cheese and crackers. Aren't they good for you? Plus, I'm afraid it may upset my emotional state if I cut too much sugar out of the diet. Having a husband away and a baby on the way, I have to have an outlet. Actually, I really do try. My goal from here on is to avoid the starches and sugars. Any ideas on how to calculate that? Too many starches grows a big baby. I've got to stick to the greens and proteins for the next few months.

It shouldn't be a problem for me since my office is in the weightroom. The only problem I have is that there is always parties going on here so there is an endless supply of soda. That will be my downfall. Amanda and I have decided that cutting it out altogether is just asking for disappointment so we've decided we can only drink pop on weekends or for holidays
